The examples shown illustrate formed sheet components with different outlines and openings. They are manufacturing references, not a standard set supplied with fixed dimensions, material or performance ratings.

Read the Sample as a Set of Features

The three pictured samples have opposing formed edges; one also has a circular opening. These visible differences provide useful starting points for a drawing review. Edge height, spacing and opening position can be specified independently rather than treating the overall outline as the only requirement.

A photograph cannot establish the material grade, coating specification or acceptable dimensional variation. Please identify those requirements on the drawing or in the purchase specification. Where a sample is the starting point, the agreed drawing should resolve any details that cannot be measured or verified reliably from appearance.

Match the Process to the Part and Quantity

Production may involve blanking, punching, bending, forming or trimming, with secondary operations added where required. The tooling route is selected according to the geometry, material and expected order volume. A simple shape does not automatically mean that every order should use the same tooling.

Material options include stainless steel, carbon steel, galvanized sheet, aluminum, brass and copper. Suitability is reviewed for the specified grade and condition. Forming can affect local thickness and surface appearance, so acceptance requirements should describe the finished component rather than assuming that every area remains identical to the original sheet.

Separate Functional and Cosmetic Requirements

A hidden internal part may have different appearance requirements from a visible cover or trim component. Identify which surfaces are exposed in use and which marks would interfere with function. Where appearance is important, an agreed reference sample can help define acceptable finish variation.

Plating, powder coating, anodizing, brushing and polishing can be considered according to the base material and purpose. Specify any coating thickness, masking or testing requirements. Similar colour does not establish that two parts have the same surface treatment.

Applications and Delivery Priorities

• Equipment supports and retainers: define locating features, edge condition and the intended method of attachment.
• Enclosure and cover components: identify visible faces, mating clearances and handling requirements.
• Electrical and general hardware: specify openings, protected contact areas and any project-specific functional tests.

These are possible uses for custom pressed components, not verified end uses or performance claims for the photographed samples.

Agree the Reference Before Repeat Orders

Record the approved drawing revision, material, finish and inspection requirements after sample review. Confirm whether dimensions are checked before or after finishing, and request any required reports during quotation. Packaging should also be agreed where parts could rub together, nest tightly or damage formed edges in transit.

For later orders, identify design or finish changes explicitly. Using the same product name is not a substitute for identifying the approved revision.

No. They show examples of formed structures. We review each requested component against the customer's dimensions, material, finish and quantity.

Can the outline or opening be changed?

Custom outlines and openings can be reviewed from your drawing. Changes may require different tooling or a revised forming sequence; feasibility and cost are confirmed before manufacturing.

Can samples be supplied before a repeat order?
