agree what success means.
A useful tooling enquiry describes both the finished component and the conditions under which it will be produced. These decisions belong in the project brief, not in assumptions made after the die is built.
PART REQUIREMENTS
The drawing is the reference.
Identify critical dimensions, datums, hole positions, formed features and edge condition. Include mating-part details and the required material grade, thickness and surface condition.
PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Define the operating context.
For customer-operated tooling, share the press and mounting information, feeding arrangement and intended production conditions. Include expected batch quantities and handling requirements for review.

Review the result,
not only the tool.
The part's openings, bends and contact surfaces define what must be checked during sample review. Mark the features that matter to assembly rather than assigning one blanket tolerance to the entire project.
Tool material, wear-component requirements and any surface treatment are reviewed against the workpiece material and intended production conditions. Confirm these choices in the agreed tooling specification.
PROJECT CHECKPOINTS
Make every approval clear.
Agree the drawing revision, supply boundary, equipment interface and items requiring clarification before committing to the build.
Confirm the manufacturing scope, specified tooling materials and assembly requirements. Record approved changes rather than allowing the drawing and tool to diverge.
Define trial material, sample quantity, measurement points and the approval process. Agree how any adjustments will be reviewed and documented.
Confirm the accepted samples, reports and other agreed deliverables before release. Shipping arrangements and the target schedule are project-specific.

MANUFACTURING CONTEXT
Bring the drawing
into the workshop.
Tooling manufacture requires the drawing, machining work and assembled condition to stay aligned. Discuss the operations, checks and documentation required for your design with the SHANGERS team.
Machining accuracy, tool life and trial conditions must be defined for the actual tool. They are not inferred from a workshop photograph or promised as one number across every die.
Define what travels with the tool.
Handover documents
Agree which drawings, component lists, sample inspection records and setup information are included. Ownership and document scope should be settled in the project agreement.
Maintenance & spare parts
Discuss wear components, replacement requirements and the scope of future maintenance support. Do not assume a spare-parts package is included without confirmation.
Protection & transport
Confirm corrosion protection, restraint of movable components, packing and handling arrangements appropriate to the completed tooling.
