A clearer production plan.
A cup-shaped part can still have very different requirements at its base, wall and rim. Mark the features that control assembly and appearance, rather than applying one tolerance to every surface.
Body & mating fit
Define the inside or outside dimensions that locate the part, overall depth, wall requirements and reference surfaces. Identify where the component meets a housing, shaft, cover or other part.
Openings & edges
Show bottom or side openings, hole positions, rim geometry and any flange. Include burr direction or edge-condition requirements where these affect handling, sealing or assembly.
Visible & functional surfaces
Identify cosmetic faces, contact areas and surfaces requiring protection. Tell us which marks are acceptable and where appearance, cleanliness or coating thickness is critical.

Material options
Stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper and brass requirements can be reviewed for your part. Specify the alloy, starting thickness and material condition; suitability depends on the actual shape and production requirements.
Surface-treatment options
Share requirements for polishing, plating, passivation, anodizing or coating as applicable to the chosen metal. Confirm the treatment, appearance standard and any testing before production—not every treatment suits every material.

BEFORE THE PRODUCTION RUN
Resolve the details
at the tooling stage.
The finished-part drawing is the starting point for reviewing tooling, forming and secondary operations. Any drawing revisions and sample acceptance points should be agreed before the production order is released.
Confirm the scope of trimming, piercing, edge finishing and other operations for the selected design. Tooling cost, sample schedule and batch quantities are quoted against the actual project.
FROM SAMPLE TO ACCEPTANCE
Inspect the features
your assembly depends on.
Mark critical diameters, depth, opening positions and flange dimensions on the drawing. Specify the required edge and surface condition, and agree the relevant inspection method and reporting scope.
Fit, leak-tightness or other functional tests are application-specific. Include the required test conditions where applicable; these are not assumed from the appearance of a metal shell.
Company in-process measurement photograph. Inspection coverage is agreed for the order.
Protect the part
after it leaves the tool.
State which surfaces must be protected from contact marks, whether parts may be nested, and how models should be separated and identified. Packing quantities and protection are confirmed for the part shape, finish and shipping requirements.
