Zhejiang Shangshi Precision Hardware Mfg. Co., Ltd. has completed a new round of progressive die tooling upgrades for its bushing spring clip line. By re-engineering the strip layout and adding in-die sensing, the company has lifted first-pass yield from 97.4% to 99.2% on its highest-volume bushing clip references.
The upgrade focuses on three areas: a redesigned carrier layout that reduces material waste by 11%, tungsten-carbide inserts on critical forming stations to extend die life beyond 800,000 strokes, and in-die sensors that flag spring-back variation in real time. The changes apply to both standard split bushing rings and custom retaining clamps produced for automotive and industrial equipment customers.
All upgraded references are now processed on 80-ton and 160-ton servo presses, with 100% CMM dimensional verification on the first and last piece of each coil. The tooling cell can deliver a new progressive die for a custom bushing clip in 18–25 working days from DFM approval.
