Custom Formed Metal Channel Components
SHANGERS supplies formed sheet metal components made to customer drawings or agreed sample requirements. This reference design has an elongated face, formed side edges and a rounded closed end. The reverse view shows the open interior. It is offered as a geometry reference for a custom project, not as a standard part with a fixed size or material.
Define the Shape Around the Mating Part
For this type of component, the outside appearance is only part of the specification. The internal opening, side height and end clearance must be defined in relation to the adjoining part. Provide a section view when an outside dimension alone does not describe the required fit.
- Overall length and outside width.
- Internal width and usable internal depth.
- Sheet thickness and material specification.
- Side-edge profile and end geometry.
- Required clearances and the surfaces used to locate the part.
Surface and Edge Requirements
Identify which face remains visible after assembly and which surfaces contact other components. State the acceptable appearance, edge condition and finish in the drawing or purchase specification. The metallic appearance of the reference photograph does not establish a material grade, coating or corrosion rating.
Where finishing affects assembly clearance, specify whether the fit dimensions apply before or after finishing. Masking, contact areas and any defined inspection requirements should be reviewed with the quotation.

Before Placing a Production Order
Use the sample to check the agreed mating interface and installation sequence. If a part must slide into place, show the entry direction and available assembly space. If retention or loading matters, provide a separate functional requirement; neither a photograph nor a successful fit check establishes holding force or load capacity.
