SHANGERS / SAMPLE STORIES
A closer look at custom machined metalwork.
Real sample photographs show how several visible machining features can be combined in one small non-standard component-and how the sample can start a conversation about your own custom part.
A sample tells the story through its shape
The part in this gallery has a cylindrical head, a hexagonal section and an externally threaded body. A small side opening is visible near the head. The different profiles give the sample a distinctive shape, with circular surfaces and flat faces brought together in a compact component. It is shown as a reference for non-standard machining: customers can use it to introduce a related part even when their own dimensions or external shape differ.
Reverse angle / hollow threaded end
The reverse view reveals a different detail
The reverse photograph reveals the hollow opening at the threaded end. From this angle, the external thread and the edge around the opening become the most prominent details. The opposite view gives more attention to the head and side opening. Together, these real viewpoints document the sample's visible features. For a similar custom part, the customer's drawing defines any internal details beyond those visible in the photographs.
Threads, flats and circular features in one component
The thread gives the lower body a distinct machined texture, while the hexagonal section interrupts the circular outline. A broader head creates another change in profile. These details are useful references for projects involving threaded bodies with additional machining features. A drawing-based enquiry can include a different head form, a longer threaded section or another external profile. The exact combination is reviewed as a complete part, rather than selected from a list of standard sizes.
Side view / round head and radial opening
Your design can be different from this sample
A customer may be interested in the threaded body but need a different head shape. Another may want a related hollow part with a different length or opening arrangement. These are directions for a design review, not claims that every variation uses the same tooling or machining route. SHANGERS welcomes similar non-standard part enquiries and reviews the actual drawing before confirming how the work would be produced.
Material and finish follow the new design
The sample gallery introduces the shape; the material and surface-treatment requirements are established for the customer's project. Where a grade and finish are already specified, include them with the enquiry. Where they remain open, identify the requirements for discussion. This keeps the quotation focused on the requested component. The photographed appearance is a reference, not a substitute for the material or finish specification of a new order.
Start with the part you want to make
A part drawing is the clearest starting point, but a reference sample or product photographs can also begin the discussion. Include the approximate quantity and any material or finish requirements already decided. SHANGERS can then review the proposed machining work and identify what additional part information is needed for a quotation. Your design may resemble only one aspect of this example: the gallery is here to show possibilities for similar custom components, not to limit your project to the displayed sample.
