Read the Shape Before Choosing the Model

Two cylindrical rings can look similar in a small product photograph while differing in wall height, opening shape or formed details. Use the complete profile, not the product name alone, to compare an existing component with a proposed replacement.

The photographs are examples from our range. They do not establish dimensions, steel grade, coating or compatibility with a particular shock absorber assembly.

01 / The Longitudinal Opening

Look at the opening from both the side and the end of the component. Your reference should show whether the edges are straight or shaped and whether a gap is specified. A perspective photograph can conceal part of the seam, so include a second view when requesting a match.

02 / The Formed Ribs

The illustrated examples have elongated formed ribs on the wall. If these features are required on your part, identify their number, position and shape in the drawing. Do not assume that every stock model has the same rib pattern as the photographed examples.

03 / The End Edges and Wall Height

An end view shows the opening and wall section; a side view shows the axial height and formed profile. Provide both views when possible. Mark any edge requirements on the drawing rather than relying on the appearance of an enlarged photograph.

Replacing an Existing Component?

Keep the original sample and its reference number together. Photograph the complete part, then take a closer view of the seam and formed features. Include the dimensions available from the original drawing.

If the sample is used or visibly deformed, tell us. Its current shape may not represent the intended new-part geometry. An approved drawing is preferable when deciding which configuration to supply.

For a shock absorber bushing project, include the part's location in the assembly. The application description is not a vehicle fitment reference, and a visual match should not be treated as an approved replacement.

What to Send With Your Reference

• A complete side view and an end view.
• The original part number or drawing, if available.
• Required dimensions and the rib or seam configuration.
• Specified material and finish, where known.
• The quantity needed for samples and the intended order.
